Mr. LaGary began his career teaching Special Education in the New York City school system in 1968. While finishing a Master’s Degree in Education of the Gifted, he developed recreational properties outside the United States during summer vacations.

After ten years he left to begin a commercial real estate practice with the appraisal firm of Becker, Reuben & Associates, learning to value diverse property types throughout the United States. In 1987 he was recruited by Julien J. Studley, Inc. and became the Executive Managing Director of the company after achieving the firm’s highest awards. While maintaining his position as one of New York City’s most productive leasing brokers, and closing more commercial sales than anyone in the firm, he also conducted an active consulting practice for corporate clients. A significant number of these transactions took place throughout the U.S. and a few in the United Kingdom. Mr. LaGary’s client base was always considered one of the finest in the firm.  In addition to serving as an Arbitrator for the Real Estate Board of New York, he has been a guest speaker in many venues, on a variety of real estate topics.

After twenty-seven years as a broker, Mr. LaGary left to found Cumulus Corporation, a boutique real estate brokerage company.  More recently at Cumulus, Mr. LaGary represented the Jewish Board of Family & Children’s Services, Inc., Masterworks Development Corporation, Touro College and the United Nations.
